ABOUT THE AREA -

This Spanish property is situated just outside the quaint old town of Álora which has many interesting features, including the remains of a Moorish castle one of the hills that the town straddles. The large selection of shops and businesses in town provide a wide selection of goods and services, and these include a large modern supermarket.

The town is about 30 minutes drive to Málaga, the Airport and the beaches on the Costa del Sol. There is a regular local train service from Álora to Málaga, and via connection, to the rest of Spain and the resorts along the coast. Bus services and taxis are readily available. There are many schools and colleges in town, a municipal swimming pool, a new theatre/cinema, a modern indoor sports centre and many recreational facilities including tennis courts and running track and a new football stadium,.

There are a number of thriving 'social' groups in the area which ex-pats and Spanish are welcome to join.

ABOUT THE FINCA -

This Spanish property borders the Guadahorce river and is accessed via asphalted lane and track, and while less than 10 minutes drive into town, has that feel of peaceful countryside.

The finca area is 8400 square metres (just over 2 acres) and consists of the house and gardens, driveway and nearly 500 trees, most of which produce 'Naval' oranges. Currently these trees are maintained by a Spanish person in return for the crop (which can be continued if required), or they could provide an income for the new owner. The average crop is about 14,000Kg. but this is expected to increase considerably in the coming years as newly planted trees mature.
Other trees include Lemons, Plums, Apricots, Nectarines, Apples, Pears, Kakis, Nispiros, Avocado, Clementines, Grapefruit and Grapes, which are grown for personal use, rather than for sale.
