ABOUT THE ORCHARD -

The orchard (finca in Spanish), is 8400 square meters (just over 2 acres) and has nearly 500 trees, most of which produce delicious 'Navel' oranges. These oranges produce an annual income and are sold to a local company, who pick and collect them. The recent average annual crop is around 16,000kg (16 tons). This is expected to increase considerably in the coming years as recently planted trees mature.
There are many other fruit trees grown in the orchard, which are mostly for personal use, rather than for sale.

For a new owner not wanting to personally maintain the orchard, a local person can look after it at an hourly rate (on an as-needed basis), or in return for the income from the crop.

ABOUT THE AREA -

This Spanish property is situated about 3km from the quaint old town of Álora which has many interesting features, including the remains of a Moorish castle on one of the hills which the town straddles. The large selection of shops and businesses in town provide a wide selection of goods and services, and these include a large modern supermarket.
